Celtic 1, Rosenborg 0 (half-time)
Martin O’Neill should be relatively satisfied with his players at half time - they are a goal to the good against Rosenborg at Parkhead.
Celtic went ahead after 21 minutes when Alan Thompson scored the goal from a free-kick after Larsson was brought down by Janne Saarinen. Saarinen was booked for the foul.
After the goal, Henrik Larsson and Chris Sutton came into the game more, but found they were being closely marked by Christer Basma and Erik Hoftun.
Rosenborg hit the crossbar in the 29th minute as they caught Celtic on the break.
But Celtic had most of the possession in the first half and the visitors rarely looked like scoring.
