Watch as man has extremely lucky escape at sword fighting event

This spectator at a medieval festival was extremely lucky to go home with his head.

The onlooker was watching two combatants battle it out in the enclosure when he had to call on some lightning-like reflexes.

Generally speaking the swords used at these events are blunted to allow enthusiasts to fight it out safely, however they do occasionally break.

In a video added to YouTube a few days ago, you can see the moment a sword breaks and flies towards the spectator.

Lucky he just manages to duck in time.

At least we know he is not headless in a crisis … sorry!
