Zarkava is likely to have a well-deserved rest following her brilliant victory in the Prix de Diane (French Oaks) at Chantilly on Sunday.
The Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained filly extended her 100% record to five with a three-length romp over Gagnoa, completing the French 1000 Guineas/Oaks double in the process.
Connections plan to bring her back in the autumn to take on the colts in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
“It was a very nice performance, she’s come out of the race well and she will probably have a little break now,” said Georges Rimaud, racing manager to owner the Aga Khan.
“The owner and the trainer talked after the race about going for the Arc with a prep race first, maybe over something like a mile and a quarter.
“But it is early days and things are still being discussed.”
