Sir Peter Ustinov, the Oscar-winning actor and staunch advocate for Unicef, will be honoured in a public memorial ceremony in Switzerland.
Leon Davico, a former Unicef spokesman, said the service in memory of the wit, mimic and humanitarian campaigner will take place on Saturday in Geneva’s St Peter’s Cathedral.
Sir Peter will later be buried in a private ceremony in the village cemetery at Bursins, the Swiss wine making village overlooking Lake Geneva where he had lived for decades, he said.
Sir Peter died of heart failure on Sunday in a clinic near his home. He was 82.
