Police in Karachi have been searching a graveyard where Daniel Pearl’s body had reportedly been dumped but have found no trace of him.

Mr Pearl was kidnapped by a previously unknown Pakistani rebel group who threatened to kill him on Friday if their demand for the release of Afghan prisoners was not met.

Spokesman for the US Consulate in Pakistan, Lonnie Kelley says the family is holding up well and all are hopeful of his release.
