Abdelhamid Abaaoud not among eight arrested in Paris

The suspected mastermind of the Paris terror attacks was not among eight people arrested during a police operation in Saint Denis.

More than 100 heavily-armed officers stormed the apartment early yesterday in search of Abdelhamid Abaaoud, who had previously been thought to be in Syria.

But the operation "neutralised" a terror cell that was "ready to act", according to Paris prosecutor Francois Molins who has confirmed two suspects were killed.

“The investigations are therefore underway both to identify the dead terrorists and those who have been arrested,

“But also all those who are likely to have been involved in this campaign of attacks, either on French territory or in Syria.”
