Ryan Babel has revealed he intends to remain at Ajax next season – but plans to play for Arsenal in the future.

The 20-year-old, who picked up the man-of-the-match award as Holland retained their European Under-21 crown on Saturday, has been linked with a move to the Barclays Premier League, with the Gunners thought to be his favoured destination.

But Babel insists he has heard nothing from the north London club as yet and is committed to the Amsterdam outfit for the time being.

“There were reports about Arsenal on the internet, but so far they are nothing more than rumours,” he told www.highlow.nl.

“Nothing concrete has happened. Next season I definitely play at Ajax.

“There will be a time that I will play at Arsenal. But there is nothing at the moment.”
