Monty’s Pass will make his seasonal reappearance in the Anglo Irish Bank Munster National Handicap Chase at Limerick on Sunday.

Jimmy Mangan’s 2003 Grand National winner has not raced since finishing fourth behind Amberleigh House in this year’s running of the Aintree spectacular.

The 11-year-old ran in the same Limerick contest in 2002 and, after starting the 7-4 favourite, finished third to More Than A Stroll.

“Unless there is a deluge, he is going to run,” Mangan told the Racing Post.

“Barry Geraghty may ride if he has no other commitments.”
