Former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff has returned home after being hospitalised for a relapse from sobriety.

The 55-year-old, who is currently embroiled in a custody battle with ex-wife Pamela Bach, considers himself fortunate to have been hospitalised before slipping back into alcoholism.

He says: "It's one of those things, it's one day at a time. I was doing great, and it just happened, and it took me 24 hours, and I just said, 'You know what? Wrong, wrong, wrong!' The little brain says that it's okay, but it's not okay, and that's what it's all about."
