Yaqeen justified strong market support to land the spoils in the Listed European Breeders Fund Virginia Stakes at Yarmouth this evening.

The Michael Jarvis-trained filly has been well-touted all season, with her last two starts having come in the 1000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes.

This represented a big drop in class, and she travelled like the winner all the way, quickening up smartly just after the two-furlong marker when Richard Hills pressed the button.

Sent off the 5-4 favourite, she saw out the 10-furlong trip with the minimum of fuss and was good value for her one-and-a-quarter-length call over the fast-finishing Samira Gold.
