If ever any of this largely unknown cast makes it big in the movies, lay your bets now that they will feel only abject embarrassment at having made this stinker.
The story - cynical laughter - is set in the small and sinister town of Darkness Falls where an old lady was once hanged for the murder of two children. Thereafter, understandably miffed at her treatment, the old crone returns to see off following kiddies.
There is nothing of wit or originality about it, nothing new to excite us or grab our attention. It is a waste of time, money and what little talent seeps from the screen.
It isn't in any way scary, it isn't in any way shocking ... well, hold that thought, it is shocking in that some mindless suit sat behind his vast Hollywood desk, removed his secretary from his knee and cried that he had found the next horror classic. I hope he is now sweeping the dead leaves on the streets of Zilchville, Indiana! Or even in Darkness Falls!!
