Former Cork hurler Setanta O'hAilpín is set to sign a contract that will keep him in Aussie Rules football for another two seasons.
The 22-year-old, currently based in Melbourne with the Carlton club, has been offered a new two-year senior contract with the Blues - one which includes a significant pay rise.
Rostered on the Blues' 2005 rookie list, O'hAilpín is preparing for one of today's Victorian Football League Finals which sees Carlton's feeder club the Northern Bullants take on Tasmania.
The new deal, negotiated by O'hAilpín's manager Gerard Sholly, will not be signed until after the end of the VFL Finals later this month. It would see the 2003 All-star, as a senior player, receiving a minimum of AUS$39,000 (€24,000) per season and match payments of AUS$2,500 (€1,500) per game.
