Front row forward John Hayes has been forced to withdraw from the Ireland team to face Italy on Saturday due to injury.

Front row forward John Hayes has been forced to withdraw from the Ireland team to face Italy on Saturday due to injury.

The Munster prop was due to make his international comeback at Thomond Park, Limerick this weekend having missed the summer tour to Australia, Tonga and Samoa.

But he picked up a calf injury in training yesterday and will be replaced at tighthead by Leinster captain Reggie Corrigan.
