McKeon announces fundraiser for suicide prevention charity

Conor McKeon and his 24-piece band are to play the National Concert Hall on November 19 in aid of Turning The Tide of Suicide (3Ts), it has been announced.

The event will also feature special guest Paul Harrington and 100-strong children’s choir.

Music on the night will include hits from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, Sam Cooke, Nina Simone and songs from The Great American Songbook.

"Raising awareness about the problem of Suicide in Ireland is really important to me," said Dublin footballer Cian O'Sullivan at today's launch.

"It's pretty scary the fact that there are more deaths from suicide in young men under the age of 26 than cancer and road accidents.

"The 3Ts is a fantastic organisation because they're working everyday to help prevent deaths by suicide through research, intervention and support.

"I hope everyone comes along on November 19 for a brilliant night's entertainment and supporting the charity at the same time."

Founded in 2003, 3Ts (Turn the Tide of Suicide)’s aim is to raise awareness of the issue of suicide and to raise funds to help prevent future deaths by suicide through dedicated research, intervention and support.
