Galway United 1 Derry City 0
Defender Wes Charles scored a vital second half winner to ease Galway's relegation worries - but only after Terryland Park recovered from a floodlight failure.
The lights went out at the venue on 65 minutes and for a time the game looked like it might be abandoned.
But groundsmen got the light's back on and Charles struck for the only goal of the game three minutes later.
Derry failed to deal with Greg O'Halloran's corner and Charles stabbed home.
