Nicole Scherzinger branded Simon Cowell a "tightwad" after she was booked an economy seat on a flight.
The 'X Factor' judge – who has been jetting between the UK and US while shooting the audition phase of the ITV series - had to pay out her own money for an upgrade on a plane from London to Los Angeles after she was shocked to find she was not on a business class seat for the long-haul journey.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Nicole was fuming. She was amazed to find she had been booked into economy. The 'X Factor' books all of her flights – but she hadn't expected this.
"Nicole spent 20 minutes trying to get British Airways to upgrade her but in the end she had to put her hand in her pocket. There were a few mutterings about Simon Cowell being a tightwad."
The 34-year-old judge – who replaced Kelly Rowland on the show – was said to be in tears while at the Boot Camp stage of 'X Factor' last week after one contestant sang a romantic song.
A source said: "She's had a tough week and an emotional song set off the tears. But she's a professional. After a break, she got back to work."
