AA Roadwatch has today advised hurling fans travelling by car to Sunday's All Ireland Senior and Minor Championship hurling finals that traffic restrictions will be in place in Drumcondra and the surrounding areas on the day.

A full Garda cordon will be in place two hours before the stiles open and one hour post-event.

Two supervised parking facilities are available to supporters, the first at Clonliffe College, Drumcondra Road will offer 3,100 spaces whilst O’Connell’s School, North Richmond Street will offer a further 400.

Motorists are also warned to respect parking restrictions in the vicinity of Croke Park as clamping will take place throughout the day.

“A full house of 80,000 fans is expected so if you can, leave the cars at home and use public transport or park and ride facilities,” recommends Nicola Hudson, AA Roadwatch Controller.

“The Park and Ride at the Red Cow will fill up very quickly on Sunday morning so be sure to get there in plenty of time.”
