Betting has reopened on the potential death of Dumbledore in the forthcoming book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
British bookmakers were bombarded with bets after author JK Rowling confirmed that a character in the book would be killed off in the next installment in the fantasy series, due out in July.
But betting halted temporarily yesterday over fears the novel's plot had been leaked - as a majority of bets on the Hogwarts headmaster came from the English town of Bungay in Suffolk, where the latest book is thought to be being printed.
The publishers of the best-selling Potter series, Bloomsbury, are telling fans to take the rumours "with a pinch of salt".
A spokeswoman for Bloomsbury adds: "There was a huge amount of speculation about (the last book) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and it was wide of the mark."
