Madonna slams cynics

Pop queen Madonna has slammed sections of the media for portraying her horse-riding accident as a publicity stunt.

Pop queen Madonna has slammed sections of the media for portraying her horse-riding accident as a publicity stunt.

The Like a Virgin singer accepts that it is part of human nature to be suspicious of others' motives, but she laughs off claims she broke several bones in August just to grab headlines.

The 47-year-old tells Attitude magazine: "Some people think I fell of my horse as a publicity stunt. If you're a celebrity, everything you do is suddenly perceived as a way to get attention.

"We are wired that way, to be suspicious of people, but hopefully that will change."
