Two people were killed when a small plane carrying tourists crashed today in southern Italy, fire officials said.

A dispatcher with the fire department in Cosenza said the plane crashed in San Lorenzo Bellizzi, but he had no further details.

An officer with Italy’s Forest Service told the news agency ANSA that he saw the plane go down in flames.
