A 15-year-old schoolboy was appearing in British court today charged with the murder of a pupil at a secondary school.

The teenager was charged last night with murdering 14-year-old Luke Walmsley.

He was appearing at Skegness Magistrates Court at 10am.

Luke was stabbed through the heart at Birkbeck School, in North Somercotes, Lincolnshire, UK on Tuesday morning.

His mother Jayne Walmsley told how her son was a member of Grimsby Judo Club and he played football for the North Somercotes under-15s.

“Yesterday, I woke up with two children, but today I have only one,” she said yesterday.

“Our family has been ripped apart and will never be the same again. Luke loved life and loved

sport.”

Birkbeck School, which had been closed since the incident, was reopening today for a “fellowship day“.

Classes are not expected to begin again until Monday.
