Owen reveals rehab experience
Take That star Mark Owen has told how he was not able to recognise the person he had become before he went into rehab.
The singer, 38, checked himself into a private clinic in March, days after admitting he had a drink problem and had cheated on Emma Ferguson, the mother of his two children and his partner of five years.
In the Radio Times, Owen said of the experience: "In rehab, I was able to look at my behaviour, at who I was and who I wasn't. I'd kind of become this person I didn't really recognise. How did that happen? You silly b*****d!"
Robbie Williams, who went to rehab in 2007 for addiction to prescription drugs and in 1995 for drink and drug addiction, said: "No-one's got the emotional tools to deal with being looked at by a million people. Live the dream? Live the nightmare."
He told the forthcoming Take That documentary: "Without rehab I'd be dead, not to be drama queen-y."
Jason Orange said in the documentary, of Owen going to rehab: "Before, if someone was suffering, there was no time to deal with it. You'd just keep grinding on for the sake of business and success.
"This time, we (the band) have to put each other first. So there was no pressure on Mark to come back. Just when he was ready."
Owen said in March that he was "deeply sorry" that he had cheated with several women during his relationship with Ferguson, but insisted he had been faithful since marrying her.
In the documentary, 'Take That: Look Back, Don't Stare', which is being released on DVD and will be broadcast on ITV1, Williams admits he "wanted to crush" former bandmate Gary Barlow when Williams launched his solo career after leaving the band.
