Police reopen Stockholm district after bomb scare

Swedish police have reopened parts of central Stockholm that were closed earlier today after a suspicious package was found in a sewer.

Swedish police have reopened parts of central Stockholm that were closed earlier today after a suspicious package was found in a sewer.

Bomb squads were called to the scene to examine the object, described as a metal pipe with cables attached to it, said police spokeswoman Tove Hagg.

She later said police found it was measuring equipment placed by the state railway company, and the district was reopened.
