John Gallagher is in confident mood as he prepares to saddle Mac Gille Eoin in the Bluesquare.com Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood on Saturday.
The four-year-old, a two-time winner over course and distance, has been the subject of market support of late, despite his disappointing effort at Ascot last month.
Gallagher was pleased after his charge was allotted stall eight for the competitive event, but hopes the rain stays away from the Sussex venue.
“All the speed horses like Borderlescott look to be on the stands side so that’s where I wanted to be,” said the Gloucestershire handler.
“He needs a good gallop and when he won here before he missed the break, so he needs something to aim at.
“He just loves this track and all I hope is that there isn’t too much of the wet stuff before Saturday.”
