Play started on time in the third round at the CA Championship today after officials brought forward tee times in an effort to beat forecast afternoon thunderstorms.
The first groups went off the first and 10th tees at 8am local time, with the final groups scheduled to start at 10am.
Early morning conditions were fine, but cloud cover was already building over the Doral Resort’s Blue Monster, perhaps a suggestion of what was to come later in the day.
Australian Geoff Ogilvy had a one-stroke halfway lead over Tiger Woods in the US dollars eight million World Golf Championships event. Woods is seeking his eighth consecutive victory, and his seventh in nine tries in this event.
