Wexford have named one championship newcomer on the side to face Dublin in the Bank of Ireland Leinster quarter-final in Dr. Cullen Park, Carlow, on Saturday evening next.

Under-21 player, Niall Murphy from the Bannow-Ballymitty club has been chosen at left corner-back. Two vacancies have been left in the wing-back positions in the hope that David Murphy and Leigh O’Brien will recover in time from shoulder and arm injuries respectively.

If either or both fail to make it, Paraic Curtis, Mark Carley, Robert Mageean and Mark Gahan will all be in the running to take their places.

Wexford had to plan with the services of midfielder Thomas Howlin who has a chipped bone in his ankle, with Diarmuid Kinsella moving to his position after figuring the half-forward line during the league campaign.

Seven of the team started in the 2-20 to 1-8 loss to Dublin two years ago, Ollie Murphy, Colm Morris, Darragh Breen, Philip Wallace, Pat Forde, Jack Berry, John Hegarty. In addition, Willie Carley came on as a substitute in that game.
