Frank Lampard’s agent has discounted claims that West Ham have received two £10m-plus bids for the player.
Steve Kutner believes Aston Villa are the only club to have made a concrete bid for the former England Under-21 captain.
And he insisted Lampard is keen to join Villa, who Kutner says have offered £7m, and wants to have talks with manager John Gregory.
The want-away Lampard is rated at around £14m by the Hammers and has also been linked with Leeds and Chelsea.
Kutner said: "West Ham are claiming they have had two bids that have outstripped what Villa have offered but they haven’t said who the clubs are and how much they are offering.
"It strikes me as being nothing more than bravado on their part. It’s clear Frank wants to go. They are simply in the business of trying to make as much money as they can out of the deal.
"Personally I don’t think there have been two other offers. I am quite sure Villa are the only club in there."
Kutner added: "Frank is desperate to meet John Gregory and talk to him. He likes the idea of joining Villa.
"But until West Ham give Villa permission to approach him, that can’t happen.
"It would be nice if we could find out where we stand, but until West Ham make it clear what bids have come in and for how much, we can’t take it any further forward."
Gregory, currently away on a family holiday, has been an admirer of Lampard since he took charge of Villa three-and-a-half years ago.
