“I’ve decided Central House will run on Wednesday,” said Hughes.

“He still seems to be showing me all his old sparkle and this is his time of year, he is certainly better before the spring than after it.

“At this stage of the season I would imagine the trip (two miles and six furlongs) should be ideal.”

Strong Flow, the 2003 Hennessy Gold Cup winner, has been absent under Rules since the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2005 but did have an outing in a point-to-point last season – in which he was unfortunately tipped up.

Hughes is waiting for the ground to ease slightly before running him again and highlighted the James Nicholson Chase at Down Royal on November 3 as a likely target.

“Strong Flow will miss the race as the ground is still a little bit fast for him,” added the County Kildare handler.

“He will probably run in the Jim Nicholson.

“He will be quite hard to place because of his rating but there are plenty of races there for him if he still retains his ability.

“He has got very little mileage on the clock.”

Hughes also confirmed stable star Hardy Eustace to be bang on target for the Coral Ascot Hurdle, which he won last year, on November 24.

“He’s first class and Ascot is the plan,” reported Hughes.
