Frankie Dettori is hoping for a big run from Byron in the TNT July Stakes at Newmarket tomorrow.

The ever-popular Italian had the choice of two other Sheikh Mohammed-owned colts in the Group Two contest, but has opted to partner the once-raced son of Green Desert for David Loder.

Mick Channon’s Royal Ascot winner Holborn and the Loder-trained Howick Falls were his other possibles in a field that has attracted eight runners.
