Eight Irish companies were declared insolvent every working day in the first half of this year.
New figures released today by vision-net.ie show a 31% increase in company dissolutions, with receiverships up 39%.
Examinerships are down 43%, which suggests that the appetite to save ailing companies has diminished.
The number of people choosing to start their own business continues to decline while the number of new business name registrations has also fallen.
