Winehouse shocks UK festival bosses with booze demands

Amy Winehouse has sparked new fears for her health after ordering 48 bottles of whiskey as part of her backstage demands for a UK festival appearance, according to British tabloid reports.

The troubled 'Valerie' singer is slated to appear at the Bestival festival on the Isle Of Wight this weekend.

And the star has shocked festival organisers by demanding 48 bottles of Jack Daniel's whiskey to be ready for her and her entourage to enjoy before she hits the stage, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.

A source tells the publications: "It's common for artists to make requests for food and beverages before they arrive.

"But organisers have heard Miss Winehouse has ordered in an extremely large amount of Jack Daniel's, in fact, a ridiculous amount that she and her team could not possibly consume during their short stay.

And festival bosses fear the huge amount of alcohol may lead to trouble.

The source adds: "Everyone is really excited about getting Amy to perform here, and naturally there are now fears she is planning something wild."

It was announced earlier this week that organisers of Bestival have been forced to organise a back-up plan in case Winehouse cancels at the last minute again. The star was recently threatened with legal action for scrapping her planned performance at a French musical festival just hours before she was due on stage.
