Shane Barrett of Longford Town has been named the eircom Player of the Month for October.

Shane Barrett of Longford Town has been named the eircom Player of the Month for October.

Barrett enjoyed a man-of-the-match performance in the FAI Cup Final, scoring as Longford Town win their first ever FAI Cup in dispatching St Patrick’s Athletic at Lansdowne Road.

Barrett, from Enfield in Co Meath, previously played for Home Farm and Dublin City.
