The Cork County Board is to meet representatives from the senior hurling and football panels on Wednesday in a bid to end the stand-off which has seen both panels effectively go on strike.
The players have withdrawn their services in a row over the way management teams, and selectors in particular, are appointed.
The players hope they can make progress by sitting with the board, but have made it clear they will not be backing down from their position.
