Drogheda United will look to move clear of struggling Galway United at the foot of the table when the two sides meet tonight at Hunky Dorys Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

The home side come into the game on the back of four consecutive losses but will still be favourites to be too strong for Galway who were beaten 8-0 by Sligo Rovers last week.

Drogheda must plan without Jack Flynn and Colm O'Brien as both are struggling with injuries.

Otherwise, manager Mick Cooke has a full squad to choose from.

Cooke said: “We will be hoping to win, but it is not the be all and end all if we don't win.

“Galway need the points more than us and this will be their cup final.

“They will be coming here looking to win and we won’t underestimate them at all.

“We were unlucky last week, but you live and learn. If we can put in the same performance as that then we should be do well.”

Johnny Keane and Sean Kelly remain out injured for Galway, while Enda Curran is also out with damaged cartilage in his knee.

Mikey Gilmore and Eduardo Dusi are both ruled out through suspension.

Galway boss Sean Connor said: "It's a massive game, we need to win the game to close the gap. If we don't win, it will be difficult to catch Drogheda. I'd like to get a positive result before the break."
