Mark Johnston's colt was a Group One winner as a juvenile but he was a big disappointment on his seasonal reappearance in the 2000 Guineas and then spent the next four months on the sidelines.

His third place in Listed company last weekend did offer some encouragement and Angus Gold, racing manager for owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, hopes he can find a suitable opportunity in the coming weeks.

"We were happy enough and it was a good start back for him," said Gold.

"Tadhg (O'Shea) felt he didn't quite stay the trip but he did need the run, so we're going to give him the benefit of the doubt on that score.

"Mark feels he's come out of it in one piece so we'll keep going and try to find something for him over seven furlongs or a mile.

"We've left him in the QEII in case and we'll see how he gets on when he gets back working, but we really want to try to win a race with him this year.

"It might be a bit optimistic to take on the very best over a mile, so we might just try to find a race he can win, but we'll see."
