Scotland coach Craig Brown will let his World Cup qualifying results decide his fate with the Scottish Football Association.
Brown's contract with the SFA finishes at the end of the year when qualification for the World Cup will have been decided.
But the Scotland boss maintains that his focus is targeted on qualification for Japan and South Korea.
"If I was 10 years younger, I might worry where my next job is coming from but I'm totally relaxed about it," said Brown.
"However, I'm not relaxed about taking the team to the World Cup finals. I'll work every day and night to try and achieve that goal. Hopefully we'll do well enough.
"If we don't, then I'll face up to the consequences. I think it's the only way to approach it."
But Brown will not be forcing a showdown with the SFA over any possible extension to his contract.
"I wouldn't expect the SFA to approach me about a new contract just now. They obviously want to wait to see how things go," Brownsaid.
"I don't want to look as if I'm trying to push the SFA into something and am touting around for a new contract, I hate that sort of thing.
"But I'll be completely honest - I haven't even thought about my future. I'm trying to concentrate on getting three victories and I think we've got a good chance. That's my only concern."
