'American Pie' star Hannigan obtains restraining order

Actress Alyson Hannigan has obtained a temporary restraining order against a man she says has repeatedly threatened her and her family.

The order obtained by the 'American Pie' star requires John Hobbs to stay 100 yards away and stop online posts about her.

Hannigan’s court filings say Hobbs, 43, of Nashua, New Hampshire, was recently released from a mental hospital.

He has threatened in online posts to kill the actress and harm her family, acording to the filing.

Hobbs admitted to police in New Hampshire that he wanted to travel to California to meet the actress.

The order covers Hannigan, her husband, actor Alexis Denisof, and their two children, aged one and three.
