Quickie divorce for 'Corrie' star Kym

'Coronation Street' star Kym Marsh and former 'EastEnders' actor Jack Ryder were granted a “quickie” divorce today after she admitted committing adultery.

'Coronation Street' star Kym Marsh and former 'EastEnders' actor Jack Ryder were granted a “quickie” divorce today after she admitted committing adultery.

The divorce was granted by the High Court in London after the actress admitted starting a relationship with 'Hollyoaks' actor Jamie Lomas when she was still married.

Marsh and Ryder, five years her junior, were married in August 2002. The couple split in March last year, vowing to stay close friends.

In a statement released through ITV, Marsh said her relationship with Lomas started several months after announcing the split from her husband.

The statement read: “She and Jack Ryder announced their separation in March 2008.

“She met Jamie Lomas in May 2008 and shortly afterwards began a relationship with him.

“There is no suggestion that the adultery was committed whilst she and Mr Ryder were still together – the date of the adultery on the papers is July 2008.

“It is only classed as adultery for the purpose of the divorce papers because she and Mr Ryder were still married when she began her relationship with Mr Lomas.”

Marsh, 32, a former singer with HearSay, recently lost her baby with Lomas.

She agreed to pay part of the legal bill after the divorce was granted on the grounds that the marriage had irretrievably broken down.

Marsh plays barmaid Michelle Connor in the ITV soap and has two children, aged 10 and 13, from a previous relationship.
