Aston Villa manager John Gregory has confirmed the club will not renew David Ginola’s contract next summer.

Aston Villa manager John Gregory has confirmed the club will not renew David Ginola’s contract next summer.

Frenchman Ginola has not started a Premiership game this season, and Gregory said: ‘‘We will not be taking up the option on David’s services and the player has been informed of our decision.’’

Ginola, who is 35 next month, joined Villa in a £3m switch from Tottenham in July 2000.
