Clement Poitrenaud is to miss France’s RBS 6 Nations Championship clash with England next weekend after suffering an ankle fracture on Saturday.

The full-back is expected to be sidelined for around three months after sustaining the injury landing awkwardly in the 20th minute of the Top 14 clash between his club side Toulouse and Perpignan.

Poitrenaud was not part of the Les Bleus squad for the first two Six Nations games, against Scotland and Ireland, but was recalled to the squad by coach Marc Lievremont for the England match.

He should be replaced by either full-back Anthony Floch or winger Julien Malzieu, who both play for Clermont Auvergne.
