Galway United 2 Sligo Rovers 0
Galway completed a good week to ease their relegation worries with their first home win of the season.
A lively first half had much bar a goal, but it wasn't for the want of trying, particularly by Galway's teenage midfielder Daryl Robson.
The youngster almost capped a dominant 45 minutes with a goal just before the interval, but Sligo keeper Richard Brush did well to tip over his 30-yard drive.
But Galway took the lead within a minute of the restart when Robson's free-kick was forced home by defender Wes Charles.
David Cooke got the second goal on 70 minutes following good work by Derek Glynn.
