Sale have signed former England Schools scrum-half Mark Simpson-Daniel, brother of Gloucester and England wing James.

The 18-year-old, who attended Sedbergh School, will join the Zurich Premiership club’s youth set-up.

Sharks Under-21 manager James Wade said: “Mark is moulded in the same style as Bryan Redpath and after watching him several times throughout last season, I am convinced he will be a great asset to Sale Sharks in the future.

“He is keen to work hard and knows he will be competing against two excellent young scrum-halves at the club, Joe Bedford and Richard Wigglesworth.”
