Astronauts have repaired one of the three computers on the International Space Station.

The crew used laptops to send and receive data from the station's command-and-control computer.

Ground controllers are hopeful the mission can now get back to normal.

Astronaut Susan Helms carried out the work, sending a series of commands which successfully set up several on-board systems.

The computer will be ordered to send it's overnight data to ground control, where Nasa experts will try to find out what went wrong.

The crew may then be able to continue with tests on the new robotic arm.
