The 'Diamonds' hitmaker changed from Stella McCartney crop top and full-length skirt into a revealing gold gown for the bash at New York nightspot Up & Down, where she joined revellers including Naomi Campbell, Selena Gomez, Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren, Bradley Cooper and girlfriend Suki Waterhouse, John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen, Leonardo DiCaprio and Lupita N'Yongo in partying until 4am.

Designer Alexander Wang hired a party bus - complete with music, neon lights and a stripper pole - to take himself and guests including Kristen Wiig, Nicole Richie and Zoe Kravitz from the Metropolitan Museum to the party, and they had a great time on the journey.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Everybody was laughing and dancing as they piled in. Kristen was swaying with her friends around the pole to the music, while Nicole texted away on her cellphone."

On arriving at the bash, guests were greeted by Rihanna and handed D'usse cocktails and many flocked straight for the dancefloor, with Jermaine Dupri behind the DJ decks.

Anne Hathaway - who changed into jeans and a top for the party - was described as the life of the party, grinding with Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa while a circle formed around them, and later staging a dance off between herself, husband Adam Shulman, J. Crew president Jenna Lyons and her girlfriend Courtney Crangi.
