US singer Dolly Parton will kick off her first major European tour since the 1970s in Denmark in March.
The 60-year-old country star will start her eight-stop tour in Horsens, 125 miles west of Copenhagen, on March 7, said Horsens Ny Teater, a theatre company organising the Danish concert.
She will continue to Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands and the UK before ending the tour on April 2 in Dublin, the company said,
Horsens Ny Teater said it was the first time since the 1970s that Parton had embarked on a major European tour.
Parton’s hits range from the very country Jolene to ballads such as I Will Always Love You and pop hits such as Here You Come Again. She also starred in several Hollywood films, including 9 to 5, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Steel Magnolias.
Dolly will play three gigs in Ireland, on Friday, March 30 in the Odyssey Arena, Belfast; Saturday, March 31in Greenglens in Millstreet, Cork and on Monday April 2 in The Point Theatre, Dublin.
