Roger Moore is to play a flamboyant gay man in his next film.
He will star with Cuba Gooding Jr in Boat Trip, which is being released in the US this summer.
His Los Angeles publicist Jerry Pam said the 74-year-old had enjoyed the role reversal.
Mr Pam said: "It was a complete switch for him but he kind of liked it. It's an outrageous film and it's very funny.
"He plays an old queen taking a trip on the cruise ship."
The film sees Cuba Gooding Jr's character and a friend going on a cruise to find love after breaking up with their girlfriends.
It turns out to be a gay cruise and they run into Moore's character Lloyd.
