A large cache of explosives allegedly belonging to the Spanish separatist group ETA has been found near the French border with Spain.
At least 600 kilograms of stolen dynamite was discovered in a suburb of the southern city of Pau, French authorities say.
The cache included materials for making bombs, booby-trapped suitcases, rocket launchers and false license plates.
Authorities say they also found an important internal document that belonged to ETA.
However, Spanish Interior Minister Mariano Rajoy says a total of 1,150 kilograms of explosives were discovered in the operation, more than police had seized in several years of raids on ETA hide-outs in Spain.
Investigators say the owner of the apartment, where the explosives were found, tipped off police.
A team of explosives experts was sent to the scene to make sure the apartment was not booby-trapped.
The cache is believed to be from a stock of eight tons of explosives that were stolen from an industrial warehouse in 1999.
Meanwhile, a suspected ETA member who was detained in southwestern France last week is being transferred to Paris to appear before a judge specializing in anti-terrorism cases.
