Liverpool fans in Singapore will not be crying into their beer after the country's Football Association lifted their ban on a possible visit from the Anfield club.
The Reds announced two weeks ago they were planning a tour of Asia in May with a possible stop in Singapore. Premiership football is hugely popular in the Far East.
But football chiefs in the country caused a storm when they said Liverpool were not welcome because they are sponsored by Carlsberg, and could therefore create a conflict of interests with Singapore soccer's main backer, Tiger Beer.
"Tiger beer has been our staunchest friend all these years," said the Singapore FA's chief operating officer, John Koh.
However, the statement prompted a barrage of complaints in the local media, forcing Tiger Beer to publicly declare they had no objections to a visit from the club.
And the FAS have subsequently announced they will contact Liverpool to see if the visit to Singapore can be resurrected.
