With Laois already at the foot of SHC qualifier Group A, manager Dinny Cahill has rung the changes for Saturday's must-win clash with Westmeath at Cusack Park (throw-in 7pm).

Dual player Darren Rooney returns at centre back with John Walsh switching over to left corner back. John A Delaney and James Hyland will both drop to the substitutes bench.

In attack, Damien Culleton comes in for James Hooban at left corner forward, while Mark Rooney has been named at full-forward. Cahill have moved Tommy Fitygerald to right corner forward with John Brophy making way.

Former minor footballer Cahir Healy reverts to right half-back with Enda Meagher a new inclusion at right half-forward.

Laois are ahead 12-6 in previous championship meetings with Westmeath, but Cahill's current crop have failed to win a competititive game all season - losing their seven NHL Division One ties and their championship encounters with Dublin and Galway.
