Emma Bunton has not got married.

Mystery surrounded a Valentine's Day wedding after Baby Spice was spotted in white with a diamond ring as she left a hotel in north London.

A spokeswoman for the Spice Girls said she was attending the wedding of a relative.

It was reported that her mother, Pauline, was holding a Just Married helium balloon fuelling speculation of a wedding between Emma and her boyfriend Jade Jones.

A spokeswoman for the Spice Girls was not sure whose wedding it was, but said: "Some people have obviously spotted her at this wedding and put two and two together and come up with 20."

Emma, 25, who has a house in Hampstead, north London, started dating Jade, 22, in 1998.

She then split with the pop star from Damage but the couple rekindled their love and had mentioned that they would like to marry.

A spokeswoman for West Lodge Hotel at Cockfosters, north London, said: "Baby Spice did not get married here yesterday."

She refused to confirm whether the pop star had actually been at the hotel.
